Destiny Price, M.D. is presently a third-year general psychiatry resident at Columbia University/New York State Psychiatric Institute. She earned both her BS in Biology and her medical degree from Louisiana State University. During her medical school training, she gained research experience investigating manifestations of trauma in children and adults. Her research interests in adverse childhood events helps her understand patients’ behaviors and patterns across the life span.

As a compassionate and patient-centered psychiatrist, Dr. Price takes a holistic approach to mental health treatment. She understands that every patient is unique and requires individualized care. As a resident, she received specialized training in cognitive and behavioral modalities of psychotherapy. Therefore, she takes the time to listen to patients’ concerns and work with them to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses their specific needs.

Dr. Price’s training took her throughout the healthcare system, from inpatient to outpatient settings, managing the mental healthcare of individuals from many diverse backgrounds. She has experience in treating a full spectrum of psychiatric conditions. Her expertise lies in integrating psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, and other foundations of mental health such as exercise and mindfulness practices.  Dr. Price is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and is slated to begin her fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in July 2023.
