Meet Virginia "Ginny" Twersky, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Psychotherapist

My Story

Virginia (Ginny) Twersky has been a clinical social worker and psychotherapist since 2008, primarily working with children, adolescents, and families. She utilizes evidence-based interventions in her work such as family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, EMDR for trauma-based therapy and Emotion Focused Therapy when working with couples.

Ginny believes that consideration of the multiple systems in a client’s life will be helpful and lead to a faster realization of therapeutic goals.

Ginny received her Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University and her Masters of Social Work from Rutgers University School of Social Work. She has participated in additional trainings in Structural Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and Emotion Focused therapy.

Ginny comes to Bartky Healthcare after working for several years building the first pediatric collaborative care initiative in New Jersey at Atlantic Health. There she collaborated with pediatricians and a child/adolescent psychiatrist to bring comprehensive care to children. Prior to that her experience working in the field includes working in an outpatient setting with children and adults, an Intense Outpatient Program for adolescents and a Children’s’ Crisis Intervention unit of a hospital. She is a licensed supervisor for both Masters Level social work students and social workers earning their clinical license.
